Art Design Contest!

I’m so happy you clicked the link! I can’t wait to see what interesting designs you come up with. Remember, there are no bad ideas! Seriously. The goal is to create stand out designs where people will say, ‘oh that’s cool’. Then they’ll ask you about your shirt and you can tell them about our cool spa. Because it's not just mine, it's ours. :)

Below, you will find inspiration pictures, the art prompts and at the very bottom you will see some of our various logos designed by the one-and-only, Mimi Zink.  You should be able to save the logos and give us a good ‘rough’ draft of your idea. If you would like the actual logo file that designers  use, please email michelle@connectwellness.biz   and I'll be happy to send it to you :)

Once you get your design nailed, email it to us! Michelle@connectwellness.biz

The contest closes November 15th. We will send an email letting you know you've won or lost. Then, we'll go from there!

Thank you so much!

Here are some general tips that might help you win.

It’s usually cheaper to print merch that are 1-2 color,  but we also love color. Uhhhhhh, I know right?

I love simple ink drawings

I also like retro and bold type face

I am drawn towards images that are catchy and weird.

But I know other people like cool/pretty stuff....

Here are the art prompts...

Free Choice

The prize for each is $300 a design, 2-4 winners!

This can be whatever you want. I’m told things sell more if you can capture value. So what does the spa mean to you? Why does it have value? Is it sitting in the grass cross legged watching the ants march by, is it talking to a stranger? Is it getting in the ice plunge?  Is it eavesdropping on someone who is not in your normal demographic?! Someone once told me "I love the sauna because people can’t tell if I’m sweating or crying. Today, I was crying" Then I gave her a hug. You know, stuff like that. Or maybe someone said something funny in the spa and you thought ‘Gosh darn, that would be funny on a shirt.’

Also, food for thought, what is some sort of iconic image of the spa? I think the view from the upper patio looking out at the hot tub is pretty ‘iconic’ but it could also be people sitting in a sauna? Or wearing sauna hats? Or someone surrounded by ice? Would be fun to have some catchy words. Surprise me!

Logo with nature

Connect Wellness logo with some flowers or nature coming out of it. This one I envision as being full color, lots of flowers or trees or whatever. Simple enough.

$300 prize

The next prompts are weird Michelle vibes which is why they come with a higher prize value.

Calm as a Cucumber

$500 prize

I think the phrase is actually, "cool as a cucumber" but for some reason I say "I'm Calm as a Cucumber", and I just like it. It makes people say "Wait, what?!"

I imagine some cucumbers with arms and legs, you know like cucumber people. They are dressed in swimsuits and maybe sauna hats, hanging out in the spa, with something cheesy that is like ‘I’m calm as a cucumber because of Connect wellness.’ Or just Calm as a cucumber. Maybe the cucumbers are holding hands, or pouring water on the sauna rocks?

B.H.A.G.

$500 prize

Whoever nails this one will be my favorite person for all time as I’ve been aching for this on a shirt for months now. I will do my best to first describe what the theory of BHAG is… It’s basically an acronym for dreaming a little bit too big. Which is one of my favorite past times :)  Like, stop reaching for the little stuff and reach for the big shit!

  • Big - BHAGs are highly aspirational and don’t need to seem realistic in the short term. We’re talking about planning several years into the future.

  • Hairy - Your BHAG shouldn’t be something you could comfortably pull off any time soon. It’s something to build to, even if it means working towards it incrementally.

  • Audacious - If someone’s first response to your BHAG is, “That’s not realistic,” then you’re on the right track. Think outside of your comfort zone and get crazy.

  • Goal - You need to create a measurable end goal. Once you have your BHAG idea, think of how you’ll know you have achieved it.

For this art prompt, I imagine a feisty cowgirl (like 7 years old) who has lasso’d a monster (think Sully from Monsters inc, hairy, big, but warm hearted) The monster is wearing a tee shirt that is a little too small, his belly is hanging out. His tee-shirt has the letters BHAG- big and bold on the front. The cowgirl is either on a horse or she’s walking, determined as she drags this big monster behind her.

Then on the opposite side of the shirt is something explaining BHAG-

What's your

Big

Hairy

Audacious

Goal?

Maybe the BHAG letters are bubble letters?

For This contest I am going to shy away from the Connect Wellness 'Branded Colors' and I invite you to use your creative freedom. Sorry Mimi :)
